The “Village” is located in the heart of La Jolla amidst the fine restaurants, numerous art galleries, and cultural centers that define this coastal city. As the oldest section of La Jolla, the “Village” could be characterized as the cultural epicenter of this vibrant beach community.

The history of this neighborhood stretches back to 1888 when San Diego residents began to build weekend beach cottages. Since that time, this section of La Jolla has grown into a community of over 2,000 homes, 100 distinguished restaurants, 40 art galleries, and numerous salons and boutiques.

The “Village” has recently witnessed a buying boom, becoming especially popular with residents who appreciate the proximity of the downtown scene. The “Village” differs from other La Jolla neighborhoods in that it is comprised of single family residences, condos, and apartments. The single family homes in this area are all are uniquely styled and range in price from 1 million to over 5 million. The condos make the “Village” one of the more affordable sections of La Jolla as buyers can get a piece of La Jolla real estate priced anywhere between $350,000 to $850,000.

Residents of the “Village” have access to world famous restaurants, shopping, and cultural centers – all within walking distance. The more adventurous can swim and dive within La Jolla Cove, a small beach tucked between sandstone cliffs. This section of La Jolla is known for its marine life and is a popular destination of the more adventurous souls who want to “swim with the sharks”.
