Del Mar Beaches Delight Both Humans & Animals

Del Mar Beaches Delight Both Humans & Animals image I, like many of you, enjoy a good run.  In fact, just recently, I completed my first half marathon!  While the San Diegan coastline has many gorgeous areas in which to exercise, Del Mar is a favorite of many.

Del Mar City Beach, between 15th Street and River Mouth, is breathtakingly beautiful, easily accessible, and boasts architectural housing wonders, while still offering great opportunity for swimmers and surfers alike.

River Mouth is the area where the San Dieguito River meets the ocean.  This area is also a favorite of dogs and their owners and is great for playing and building in the sand, as the waves are quite calm.

Running along the bluffs at Del Mar City Beach, on the southern side of 15th  Street, can lead you clear up to Torrey Pines, provided the tide is not too high.  There is also a path alongside the train tracks that is used by many walkers and joggers, as you can travel for miles without having to stop for cars or light signals.

If you enjoy seeing the horses, you may be interested to know that the Del Mar National Horse Show is going on April 22nd through May 9th.  The show has run since 1946 and more information can be found at http://www.sdfair.com/horseshow/.  Have fun!
